At Run Slick, we exist for one reason: to help people move freely — without friction, without limits, and without being told they don’t belong.

That’s why we’re proud to sponsor the First 50K Sisterhood, a scholarship program created by The Cairn Project in partnership with Wild Woman Trail Runs.

The reality is simple: women currently make up just to 10-30% of ultramarathon fields. Not because they lack ability, grit or drive — but because the path into ultrarunning has often been blocked by financial, educational, and confidence barriers.

The First 50k Sisterhood is designed to remove those barriers entirely.

Supporting women who are stepping into the unknown.

What the Program Provides

Fifteen women from across the country have been selected to receive:

Race entry to the Wild Woman Trail Runs 50k.
Trail shoes, gear, and nutrition.
Coaching and structured training plans.
A supportive cohort and community.
The opportunity to tell their stories along the way.

On June 20, 2026, they’ll toe the line at the Wild Woman Trail Runs 50k in Trout Lake, Washington— ready, supported, and surrounded by women on the same journey.

More Than a Race

This program isn’t just about one finish line.

Each runner is also raising $1,000, creating $15,000 in scholarships that will help future women take their own first steps into trail running and outdoor adventure.

That is how a sport changes — not overnight, but person by person.

Why This Matters to Run Slick

We design products for real movement — long days, hard efforts, unknown terrain, and moments where doubt creeps in. Supporting women who are stepping into ultrarunning for the first time aligns perfectly with what we stand for.

These women aren’t chasing podiums. They’re chasing possibility.

And we’re honored to support them every step of the way.
